The leading purchaser of processed travertine exports is again the United States.
Exports to the United States excelled the 2001 figure of $46 million by 49% to $68.7
million in 2002. Next are the exports from the Aegean free zone.
Exports from this zone in 2002 turned out to be more than twice (125 %)
the $10 million in 2001, at $22.6 million. At the third and fourth place,
exports to the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia in 2002 were $4.5 and $4 million
respectively, signifying a 92% leap for our exports to the United Kingdom, but
a 6% drop to Saudi Arabia.
Total exports were 58% in excess of the $73 million in 2001, at $115 million.
